Valentine's Day Lips

With Valentines Day right around the corner I thought I would do a tutorial on a bold red lip. I personally think every day is an acceptable day to wear bold red lips, but especially on Valentines Day.

Things you'll need:
Lip Scrub: Victoria Secrets Pro Smooth FX Lip Scrub and Balm / Lip Primer: Mac Prep + Prime Lip / Lip Liner: Mac Pro Longwear Lip Pencil in Kiss Me Quick / Lipstick: Mac Viva Glam Lipstick in Viva Glam I

I start with this lip scrub from Victoria Secrets. I just scoop a little onto my finger and rub it over my top and bottom lip for about 30 seconds or so. It’s a sugar scrub so it tastes great. After I’m done scrubbing my lips, I take a tissue and wipe the scrub off. The lip scrub comes with a lip balm on top, but I think it leaves your lips very slick, so I skip it if I’m applying lipstick.

Instead I use this primer from Mac’s Prep + Prime line. It leaves your lips super moisturized and soft. I usually let it set for a minute or two before applying my lip liner.

After that I apply my lip liner. Lip liner is super, super important, especially when it comes to bold and bright colors. I start by outlining my lips and then fill them in completely with liner. The reason for this is 1. If the shade isn’t exact I don’t want that line around my lips, and 2. It makes your lipstick stay on forever. (I typically wake up the next morning with lipstick still in perfect condition.)

Now it’s finally time to put your lipstick on. Just apply that like normal, and you are ready for a night out with your Valentine.

V-day gifts for her

Valentine’s Day is exactly one week away. While I must admit I am not over the top crazy about Valentine’s Day, I still enjoy it. I should be putting together a gift guide for what to buy that special guy in your life but, I can’t shop for guys to save my life. (My boyfriend always gets exactly what he tells me he wants; because I never know what to buy him. Sorry babe.) Instead, I have put together a list of what I would want for Valentine’s Day. So for the gals in your life that you may need a gift for, here are some perfect gift(s) for this special day.

1. Boots Hunter boots $140  (Color: Lipstick)  / 2. Bracelet Kate Spade $58 / 3. Phone case Ban. do $25 (also available in 4/4s) / 4. Watch Michael Kors $250 / 5. Mac Lipstick Viva Glam Rihanna $16 / 6. Necklace All the wire $30 (you can get this necklace stamped with any 10 characters) / 7. Purse Kate Spade $298

Maybe next week I will try and tackle the whole what to get your guy thing.

Is it Spring yet?

I don’t know about y’all but I am so over this winter weather. And I’m ready for spring to make its appearance. I decided to wear this outfit Sunday in hopes that the little groundhog wouldn’t see his shadow, and therefore not having 6 more weeks of winter. It was also in the 70’s Sunday, so maybe this cold weather is finally over. However Mr. Groundhog did see his shadow so we will have to wait and see.

The thing I love about this outfit is that it’s perfect for spring. I love colored denim, and this pink pair is no exception. They are not to neon, which I love, but still bright and very fun. Pairing them with this light, faded chambray shirt just screams spring to me. Hopefully, I’ll be able to wear it with sandals soon instead of boots.

Shirt: Forever21 old (similar here and here) / Jeans: Forever21 old (similar here and here) / Boots: Sam Edelman via Nordstrom Rack (similar here here and here) / Belt: Target / Sunglasses: Betsy Johnson old (exact same here) / Purse: Target old (similar here) / Watch: Michael Kors / Love Bracelet: BCBGeneration old (Make your own here) / Spike Bracelet: Aldo old (similar here)

What do y’all think?
Do you love these winter temps, or are you ready for spring like me?
